Robert Collins
My passion has always been protecting the people who depend on government to keep its promises.
I hear from neighbors who are concerned about our democracy, rising property taxes, the growing cost of everyday life, concerns over threats to public schools, and the challenge of finding affordable housing and healthcare. They want leaders who will listen, solve problems, and bring people together.
That's why I've spent my career fighting waste, fraud, and abuse so more taxpayer dollars reach the people and programs they were intended to serve. I authored the Kansas False Claims Act (K.S.A. 75-7501 et. seq.) and collaborated to establish the Kansas Medicaid Inspector General's Office which has recovered significant dollars for Kansas budgets because I believe good government matters. When government is accountable, we can protect essential services while making every taxpayer dollar go further.
For most of my career, I've worked behind the scenes to make Kansas government more effective. I never expected to run for office, but I believe this is a moment when my experience can help meet the challenges facing our district and state. That's why I'm running for the Kansas House. I believe government should be a careful steward of taxpayer dollars, protect the essential services Kansans rely on, and focus on solutions that improve people's lives.
My wife, Heather, and I have called Olathe home since 2010, where we've built our life together cheering on the Royals and Chiefs, enjoying local music, and spending time with our Shelties, Zoey and Lexie. We're proud to be part of this community. I'm running to bring practical experience, honest leadership, and a lifelong commitment to public service so we can leave Kansas stronger for the next generation.
